Neuropsychological Assessment
Assessment includes comprehensive interview, testing, and full report with feedback for adults with a wide range of developmental and acquired neuropsychological conditions including, but not limited to…
-traumatic brain injury [TBI]
-multiple sclerosis
-Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
-developmental disorders including attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
-chronic illness
Assessments can be conducted in person or online.
First we schedule a 1-1.5 hour interview which is an in-depth look at your medical and psychosocial history and your current symptoms. Documentation of illnesses and major life events (academic performance if pertinent, etc) is typically requested for background. Testing is typically scheduled on a different day, and usually takes 4-12 hours, depending (average is 4-6 hours). More testing information can be found here.
After testing, I will score and analyze the tests, compile the data, including your background information from the interview and documentation, into a full report. This will include relevant diagnostic considerations and recommendations, cognitive (thinking) styles unique to you, ways your function best and worst, and a plan for success unique to you. It comprises the most comprehensive picture of your current cognitive functioning.
Occasionally a shorter assessment is warranted. These typically take just a couple hours of testing combined with the full interview. A brief report is then provided.
